The Infrastructure Investment & Jobs Act (IIJA), also known as the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law (BIL), was passed into law in November of 2021. The $1.2 trillion funding package represents the largest infrastructure investment in US history. With over $500 billion in new spending programs, plus increases across the board for existing programs, the IIJA has an enormous potential to shape the transportation and infrastructure landscape of our region.

UMA’s goal with our IIJA Dashboard is to filter through the 350+ grant programs in the legislation, and provide Upstate transportation advocates and professionals with easy access to relevant grant information, advocacy tools, and more.

Note that UMA will not highlight every grant program in IIJA, but rather focuses on those it has internally identified as most relevant, and with the most potential impact, to the Upstate region. For a full list of IIJA grant programs, head over to our “Overview” or “Resources” sections.
