Mission & History
Mission Statement:
The Upstate Mobility Alliance (UMA) prioritizes and champions policy and investment opportunities that will advance mobility across the upstate through education, awareness, and by building a coalition of community partners.
Profile:
The Upstate Mobility Alliance was created as an initative of Ten at the Top in 2019, on the heels of a region-wide study in 2017 entitled “Connecting Our Future” (COF). Out of the COF study, community leaders agreed that having a regional focus on all-things mobility and transportation would help inform and empower the region on matters related to those sectors.
Led by staff and a volunteer leadership team consisting of public and private sector leaders in the transportation field, and with oversight from Ten at the Top’s board and executive director, UMA works within the ten-county region of the Upstate to help advance transportation solutions and policy that help make it easier for people and goods to move freely throughout the region.
Membership in the Upstate Mobility Alliance is open to any individual or organization in Upstate SC that shares the vision of creating a more vibrant and connected region.
The Upstate Mobility Alliance, an initiative under the operational umbrella of Ten at the Top and the 501(c)3 entity Our Upstate-SC, is the result of work done by Ten at the Top and regional partners on the Connecting Our Future (COF) initiative.
