Moving People

The Moving People Task Force assesses how to improve or deploy various modes of transportation such as traditional vehicular transportation, public transit, paratransit, ride call service, ridesharing, vanpooling, local shuttles and more across the Upstate region.

The MP Task Force helps communities research, understand, and plan for various modes of transportation for individuals. It also tracks gaps or hurdles communities face to help strengthen and advance solutions. While UMA does not directly manage transportation services, our Task Force helps guide interested communities towards viable, realistic, and effective services.

In particular, UMA uses data collected through this Task Force’s work to inform a regional approach to transportation that is inclusive of all modes of transportation.
